I am a mother to Freddie (5 years old) and Arabella (2 years old). I implemented sleep shaping with Freddie when he was a very young age and many parents would tell me I was so lucky to have such an amazing sleeper! I used to think to myself, yes we are so unbelievably lucky and always worry that our next child would not be the same. However, since training to become a Certified Sleep Consultant and doing ongoing research, I now know that good sleep is not down to luck! My second child Arabella, I also installed sleep shaping with and again she has been an amazing sleeper since. I have experienced all the struggles with babies teething, sickness, arrival of new baby, development leaps and sleep regressions. Imagine being able to put your little one down for the night awake and they self settle independently and sleep a full night’s sleep? You could even enjoy date night with your spouse or just have a relaxing evening to yourself. This is achievable and from a younger age than probably most parents realise. Predictable and restorative naps, so you can actually get things done!

I believe teaching a baby how to self settle to sleep and sleep through the night is a learnt skill. This skill can be taught using gentle and responsive methods (not leaving them to cry it out). I can teach parents to achieve long lasting results for their little ones using only gentle sleep training or sleep shaping techniques. Just like you guide and support your baby to crawl, walk, potty train, ride a bike and swim. You teach your baby to self-settle and therefore sleep well. It is true that some babies eventually will developmentally sleep better at a slighter older age, however, you can achieve this sooner and many children do not developmentally achieve great sleep by themselves.
